Lake Eufaula is popping with events all year long, making it the ultimate spot for creating some epic memories. Let’s dive into some of these events to let you know what you can expect to find each season at this lakeside haven.
Annual Events Calendar
Join the fun at one of Lake Eufaula’s fun festivals and special events! Whether it’s holiday celebrations, activities on the water, or just cool ways to spend the day with the family, we’ve got you covered.
Spring Events
Spring is all about renewal and fresh starts. The beautiful spring weather at Lake Eufaula is perfect for hiking and exploring the trails around the lake, while birders will get a chance to watch the migratory birds make their return. Then there are the special festivals and lots of fishing tournaments for the anglers in your family!
Eufaula Heritage Days
Come take part in this fun annual celebration of the city’s historical development at Posey Park. Watch real gunfight shows in action and step back in time into a frontier town! There is live music, horseshoe tournaments, a parade, crafts, and of course….great food vendors.
Fishing Tournaments
A variety of fishing tourneys are available for anglers. From bass to crappie tournaments and more, come and check out one of the many fishing tournaments in the area and see why Eufaula is a fishing favorite.
Summer Events
Summer is peak season in Lake Eufaula. The area is full of activities on the water like fishing, boating, wakeboarding, and swimming, while special events and outdoor concerts help to bring the community together.
Whole Hawg Days & Poker Run
Join in the fun at the Whole Hawg Days & Poker Run! This two-day celebration of summer includes a rodeo, a parade, a barbecue cook-off, a car show, and vendors in the park, in addition to the much anticipated Whole Hawg Poker Run. Participants in this fun poker run set around Eufaula Lake can use a boat, car, or motorcycle to pick up cards at participating marinas around the lake then return to the starting point to see which player has created the best five-card stud hand. There are cash prizes for winners, but fun to be had by everyone with all of the festivities!
4th of July Fireworks
Celebrate Independence Day with fireworks and other activities around the lake. There are multiple celebrations across the county that include everything from traditional fireworks celebrations to parades and golf tournaments.
Wine and Arts Festival
Held downtown, this festival invites people to check out live music, wineries, breweries, and amazing art. Eufaula is known as a haven for artists, and the charming downtown area is adorned with meticulously hand-painted murals that visitors to this fun event will be able to enjoy.
Oklahoma Festival of Ballooning
Set in nearby Muskogee, grab a coffee, and come see these beautiful balloons lift off at sunrise. Plenty of family activities are available for the kiddos, and an evening balloon glow and fireworks will wrap up the festival. This is a fun event for all ages!
Fall Events
Fall at Lake Eufaula is magical with the colorful backdrop of changing leaves set against the pristine lake water. If you are here during these cooler months, you’re sure to have a newfound love of it when the temps drop.
BARKtoberfest
One of our favorite events of the year, BARKtoberfest is always a howling good time!!! This event benefits our non-profit organization, Porches for Pups, which was created to assist with the homeless pet population and assist our local partners in the community, Chasing Miracles Animal Rescue and Husky Halfway House. With live music, a pumpkin patch, games, food trucks, and animal adoptions, this event is always an amazing time for all.
Lake Eufaula Association’s Annual Golf Tournament
This two-man scramble at Arrowhead Golf Course is a fun event for golfers with chances to win prizes for the top players. Don’t worry about a few stray shots, mulligans can be purchased for $5 each with no limit. Registration includes a green fee, cart, lunch, door prizes, and a Goody Bag. Enjoy additional games available for purchase from Dixon Golf during the event. Grab your best scramble partner and try your luck in the Lake Eufaula Association Annual Golf Tournament.
Winter Events
The cool winter weather doesn’t change the magic of Lake Eufaula. Water sports make way for more cozy activities, but the lake still boasts plenty of its charm.
Lighted Boat Parade
Our favorite way to kick off the holiday season, the Lighted Boat Parade is an amazing display of Christmas lights set out on the boats of Eufaula as they cross the lake. Watch from ashore from prime viewing locations such as Sammy’s Surf Shop, Captain John’s, Xtreme Cove Marina, Tumbleweeds Steakhouse, Lakeshore Bites & Brews, and both North and South beaches along Lakeshore Dr.
Light Displays
Visit Lake Eufaula State Park Holiday Lights to drive through a wonderland of colorful lights. Deep Fork Campground in the park comes to life with an array of lighted displays and inflatable decorations that radiate holiday cheer. Drive through a tunnel of lights and wind your way through the campground to see all of the festive displays. Load up the whole family in the car and head out to Lake Eufaula State Park Holiday Lights for a memorable holiday experience.
